At the Kiwanis Zone Conference in Pullman, Washington, Moscow (Idaho) Middle School Builder's Club President and Club Advisor were honored for raising over $1,000 for Central Asia Institute. Founded by Greg Mortenson (Three Cups of Tea), the money will be used to build more schools in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Just for fun, Kiwanis went to dinner at El Sol Restaurant in Cheney and then went to the Cheney Community Theater. The play, directed by Patty Steen, was "A Fairy Tale Courtroom."
Our next big event was delivering 500 + bouquets of flowers for Joy Dahl, owner of Chet's Flowers, on Valentines Day. Delivering flowers on Valentines Day is a pleasure for both the receiver and the giver. Wouldn't it be nice if all of our Kiwanis Projects were so heart warming.
